An engagement party is exactly what the name says—a party! It is an opportunity to introduce families and friends to each other and have a chance to socialize with one another. It is a celebration of the new couple and the exciting new phase in their lives. These parties can be formal or casual, anything as long the couple’s families and friends are able to mingle and have a good time. We love planning these special and intimate moments in our couples’ lives leading up to their big day. We had a wonderful opportunity to plan an intimate engagement party for the lovely Sirisha and Varnit.
In October 2016, Varnit had surprised Sirisha with a magical vacation to the ever gorgeous Casablanca in Morocco. He made sure to travel with 100 multicoloured hand folded origami hearts and with some help from the beautiful Four Seasons hotel staff he was able to propose to her just the way she had always imagined it-on a magnificent beachfront standing in between a heart created by the origami hearts.
The party decorations began promptly at 11AM and it included ironing, cutting, pulling out tables and chairs, and framing. A big thank you to Harpreet from The Punjab Paratha Hut with lending us an extra hand for the set up and the take down.
The engagement was just as casual and playful as the couple. It was intimate but very welcoming. It was busy but content. It was pink, pastel, and elegant. The bride and groom had wanted something simple yet chic so we chose pastel pink with simple baby’s breath around the room. The paper flower wall served as the main focus throughout the engagement and it was beautifully done in ivory, pastel pink and green flowers! Everyone was hurdled in their groups, parents chatting away with parents, kids comparing their desserts or sharing thoughts about the newest game they were playing on their parent’s phones. The food was perfect, the backdrop was beautiful, the dessert was amazing and even though the morning started off grey and wet, it was a bright and sunny ride home.
